Ian is a partner in the corporate group, and advises on a range of corporate matters including domestic and cross-border M&A, private equity and venture capital.
Ian focuses, in particular, on supporting high growth companies, investors and entrepreneurs in the technology, consumer and life sciences sectors as they progress through their entire life cycle from funding rounds, through expansion and acquisition, to exit.
Ian is also a founder and former managing director of an investor funded technology/consumer brand. He has genuine, hands-on experience of understanding the real world issues impacting both investors and owner managed businesses, including building a brand, creating an innovative product, securing investment and developing a growth stage business. In this role Ian received a Certificate of Merit in the IoD Scotland Director of the Year Awards and won the Scottish EDGE Entrepreneurship Award.

Yoto, the audio platform for children, on its $17 million Series A fundraising to help facilitate its rapid growth across Europe and North America. The investment followed the successful launch in early 2020 of the 2nd generation Yoto Player, subsequently awarded one of TIME magazine’s Inventions of the Year.
