Siân Skelton

Siân specialises in all aspects of technology and privacy law. She works with technology companies of all sizes, from startups to global brands, and guides them through contract negotiations, crossborder compliance matters, privacy governance, product launches, consumer and other regulatory matters.

Siân helps technology companies to draft and negotiate commercial contracts which provide the maximum value to their business. She can also help clients in other sectors on a wide range of commercial matters, especially related to IT contracts. This includes technology, software and website development, support and maintenance, reseller and partnering arrangements and issues related to online content and information.

Siân works with companies at the forefront of ecommerce, consumer and fashiontech, healthtech, proptech, adtech, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and cloud services. Siân provides commercial, pragmatic and strategic advice to clients on all matters.

Siân works closely with our corporate teams, providing essential support to corporate acquisitions and disposals in all areas relating to technology, IP and commercial. Her practice is very international, with her regularly advising international clients, in particular those from North America, who are looking to expand into the UK and Europe.

Vinted become latest European Unicorn after closing EUR128 million Series E round financing

Vinted, Europe's largest online international C2C marketplace dedicated to second-hand fashion, on its EUR128 million Series E round financing which values the company at over EUR1 billion.The round was led by new investor Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from existing backers including Sprints Capital, Insight Venture Partners, Accel and Burda Principal Investments.

Creation of a complex co-operation and referral agreement

MarketInvoice on a complex co-operation and referral agreement between them and Barclays. The agreement entails Barclays referring eligible business banking customers to MarketInvoice to benefit from their services. At the same time MarketInvoice received a GBP10m investment loan note and warrant investment from Barclays. This was a high profile deal, game changing for both parties.

Walstead, one of the leading European commercial printing groups and portfolio company of Rutland Partners, on its acquisition of LSC Communications' European printing business. The nature of this transaction was international and involved the core team in the UK working closely alongside colleagues in Poland, Germany and Austria. Walstead now serves c. 5,000 customers across the UK, Spain, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovenia and Poland.
