Thinking differently

We are not going to talk about the Omicron variant in this newsletter and instead we are going to focus on the positive news we have seen in the last few weeks to show what's possible when (hopefully) COVID-19 restrictions are relaxed again:

Shaftesbury, the UK landlord, has reported that weekend footfall has returned to 2019 levels in central London.
Pret A Manger has signed two new UK franchise partners and is planning to open more than 200 UK shops and employ a further 3,000 people within the next five years.
Lumina's latest data from their Eating & Drinking Out Panel shows that UK spending increased during October half term.
STR, speaking at the EHIC Hotels Conference 2021 which Taylor Wessing sponsor, highlighted that average daily rate for rooms across hotels in Europe is growing strongly after the resumption of international travel and in October London reported its highest performance levels of the pandemic-era.

There is still clearly a long way to go for the hospitality industry to fully recover from the coronavirus pandemic and a lot of challenges to be faced but for now we are looking at the positives.
