As part of its business expansion, Taylor Wessing France is looking to hire a Patent Attorney (or a Patent Litigator which a scientific background), ideally with a background in life sciences (biotechnology, pharmaceuticals), to join its Patent team, which currently has six patent litigators, and whose practice is entirely dedicated to patent litigation.
Your main tasks will consist of handling pre-litigation and litigation matters related to patents, both before French courts and the Unified Patent Court (“UPC”), as well as coordinating international litigation strategies, particularly for clients who are pharmaceutical companies.
Required Profile
We welcome talented and passionate candidates with diverse backgrounds and profiles who have a scientific background as well as training or experience in patents, though we are not strictly limited to the description below.
Ideally, you will have:
• a graduate degree (Ph.D., master’s, or engineering degree) in a scientific field related to life sciences (including chemistry, biology, and/or pharmacy), as well as
• a diploma or training in patent law (CEIPI - or a foreign equivalent - and/or EQE and/or professional experience).
Ideally, you have at least 5 years of professional experience in an intellectual property-related environment: a patent attorney firm, a patent law firm or in the industry, particularly within the patent department of a pharmaceutical company or a biotech.
Qualification as national or European patent attorney is welcomed, but optional.
Excellent command of English, the main working language for day-to-day business handled by the team, is essential. Fluency in French is appreciated but not required.
You are rigorous, responsive, pedagogue and demonstrate excellent teamwork skills.

Taylor Wessing’s Patent practice in Paris is led by Jules Fabre, who joined Taylor Wessing in May 2025. The team is expanding rapidly and is particularly renowned for its expertise in patent litigation and supplementary protection certificates, both in France and before the Unified Patent Court (UPC), as well as for coordinating litigation strategies and cases at pan-European and international levels. The team is particularly active on behalf of clients in the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors and also advises clients on related issues regarding pharmaceutical regulations.
