Carsten is a member of the firm's international Energy & Infrastructure Group and the German Corporate / M&A Real Estate, Infrastructure & Energy Group.

Based on his experience from over 100 national and international M&A transactions, Carsten is one of the leading experts in this area, particularly, for projects in the area of renewable energies and for investments in technologies to avoid and reduce CO2 emissions.

His practice also includes providing ongoing advise and developing the respective investment projects in an innovative way, thereby always keeping his client's interests in mind. Carsten also focuses on advising clients in the areas of entertainment and sports, in which he has provided legal support with respect to M&A projects for many years. He is held in high esteem for his determined yet experienced hands-on approach to advising his clients - regardless of whether they come from the energy industry or the entertainment sector.

PARQ energy on bridge financing for photovoltaic project

Comprehensive legal advice to PARQ energy on the structuring of a bridge loan by Kommunalkredit Austria AG, which will be used for the development of a photovoltaic project with a nominal output of 38 MWp. The project will supply around 11,500 households with sustainable energy per year.

Acquisition of the first German “onshore wind+storage”-project and respective PPA

Taylor Wessing advised CEE Group on a special renewable energy transaction. CEE Group acquired the only "onshore wind+storage" project in Germany to date from juwi including a PPA contract with MVV Trading GmbH. juwi was awarded the contract for this innovative project in the first nationwide innovation tender by the German Federal Network Agency in September 2020. The electricity is reimbursed with a fixed market bonus as well as with a so-called Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) that juwi developed jointly with MVV Trading GmbH. Hamburg-based CEE Group has acquired project and PPA.
