Corporate and M&A
Nicolas de Witt joined the Paris office’s corporate department as partner in November 2008. He specializes in financing transactions for listed and non-listed corporations.
Nicolas has extensive expertise in fundraising (venture capital, growth capital and LBO transactions), M&A transactions, carve-outs and joint-ventures, advising both French and international clients, investment funds, managers or targets.
His main areas of focus are technology and energy, although he also advises clients across a wide range of service and industrial sectors. As a member of the Energy team at Taylor Wessing, Nicolas advises French and international clients on the acquisition and sale of solar and wind farms in France.
For over 25 years, Nicolas has been advising issuers or banks on securities law in the context of initial public offerings, capital increase, rights offering, block sales, public offers to buy or exchange and delisting on French and American markets.
Member of the Paris and New York bars, Nicolas began his career at CMS Francis Lefebvre in Buenos Aires and Paris (1997-2000). He then joined Skadden Arps and was based in New York and Paris (2001-2007).
Nicolas holds a post graduate degree and a Master's degree in Business and Tax Law (DJCE et DESS Droit des Affaires et Fiscalité - Université de Paris II), a Master's degree in Economics (Maîtrise Sciences de Gestion - Paris Dauphine-PSL) and an LLM degree from Columbia Law School.
He regularly publishes articles in specialized legal magazines and books. He was treasurer and board member of the French securities law association (ADB) since its creation in 2011 and until 2021.
Nicolas also teaches at Paris Dauphine - PSL (Corporate Law - 214 - Master's Year 2).
He fluently speaks English, French and Spanish.
