Tom is a senior associate in the Private Client group. He advises on a wide range of private client issues and has established a varied practice. Tom has particular experience dealing with issues of family governance and succession planning, helping clients navigate delicate and complex matters which require custom legal solutions. His work includes the drafting of Wills, powers of attorney, as well as the establishment of trusts and corporate structures.
Tom's acts for high net worth individuals and families – both in the UK and overseas – as well as trustees and beneficiaries of trusts of considerable value in a variety of jurisdictions.
Tom also has experience on contentious matters – including Court of Protection issues and inheritance disputes - and so is able to identify litigation risks and help mitigate these for his clients.
Tom is an active member of the Private Wealth sector group and works with colleagues across the firm in different specialist areas to find the best solutions for his clients.

Advising a non-UK based family on their estate planning for assets owned in a wide variety of jurisdictions - including the UK, the US and the UAE - which involved coordinating advice from overseas law firms and creating a holistic succession plan.
Advising a UK based entrepreneur prior to the sale of his start-up tech business in order to structure the sale proceeds in a tax-efficient manner and assist with appropriate succession planning.
Acting for a group of beneficiaries of a trust undergoing a restructuring project, ensuring the beneficiaries' interests are represented and protected.
Advising the sole beneficiary of a valuable estate which was going through administration and was subject to a number of complex creditor claims.
Acting for one branch of a family as parties to Court of Protection proceedings in relation to a person lacking mental capacity, covering a wide-range of issues from the appointment of a deputy to the sale of assets.
