European Patent Attorney
Diptanil Debbarma is a European Patent Attorney and UPC Representative in our Amsterdam office and specialises in Patents. He is a member of our Intellectual Property practice group with a strong focus on patents and innovation.
Diptanil is mainly involved in multi-jurisdictional patent cases, representing clients before the Unified Patent Court (UPC) and the Dutch national courts. He has particular experience in the TMT sector, acting in matters regarding electronics and telecoms (in particular SEPs and FRAND), as well as computer-implemented inventions and semiconductors. He also advices and handles matters involving medical devices, and also supports clients with Freedom-To-Operate (FTO) analyses, patent prosecution, drafting of patent applications, and EPO opposition work.
Diptanil holds a PhD in Wireless Communications from Eindhoven University of Technology in Netherlands, a Master’s in Telecommunication from the premier Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and a B.E. (University Rank Holder) in Electronics & Telecommunication from Sathyabama University, Chennai. Prior to joining Taylor Wessing Netherlands, he worked as a senior associate (European Patent Attorney/UPC Representative) at an international law firm specialised in IP, including a secondment in London.
He is the (co-)author of multiple scholarly publications in wireless communications and networking, including journal and conference papers.
