Martin is the CEE Head of IP/IT and the Manufacturing & Industrials sector group. He is recognised as one of Austria's leading IP lawyers and is especially well known for advising and representing clients on unfair competition and marketing matters and in particular “green claims” and “EmpCo-Fitness” - the new EU compliance benchmark for green communication under the Empowering Consumers Directive.

Martin is a repeatedly awarded lawyer, lauded by clients for being a highly creative and sharp-minded lawyer with a profound knowledge of IP law. He handles contentious and non-contentious IP matters, with a focus on trademark clearance risks, protection strategies, enforcement and commercial exploitation of trademarks and designs, unfair competition, trade secrets (know-how strategies and know-how enforcement) design law, copyright law, advertising law, and advice regarding reverse engineering. He works with clients across various sectors, among them being automotive, clothing, food, furniture, logistics & transport, media & communications, technology and tourism, as well as welding technology.

Martin is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) in the Committee ‘Brands for a Better Society’. In this role, he regularly contributes to official publications and statements on EU consumer and sustainability law (e.g. INTA’s statement to the EU Commission on the European Green Flight Label and the INTA briefing on “EmpCo-Fitness” (Directive applicable in Europe from 27 September 2026).
