In recent years Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and South East Europe (SEE) have offered tremendous growth opportunities. The region's growth has been characterised by increasing domestic demand and consumption, low unemployment, higher incomes and the region's position as a 'gateway' to and from the EU for many non-member states.

We opened an office in Vienna, Austria in 1986, quickly expanding into Budapest, Prague, Brno, Bratislava, Warsaw and Kyiv. Today, our CEE/SEE Centre of Excellence comprises more than 120 lawyers. We advise major national, European and global companies in the commercial, industrial, service, banking and insurance sectors. By operating in specialist – and very often cross-border – teams, we are able to provide first-class service in all areas of commercial law and private client business, despite the growing complexity of legal issues facing our clients. Our highly trained commercial lawyers all have international experience.

Our advice is tailored to local conditions and combined with a global outlook to ensure solutions can scale to a cross-border and international context. In those CEE/SEE countries where we don’t have a presence on the ground, we have long-established and close working relationships with local ‘best friend’ firms.
