With a strong focus on technical delivery, you’ll benefit from in-depth knowledge sessions on ground breaking case studies and changes in the law, delivered by subject matter experts. Bespoke skills development focuses on your role as a commercial business lawyer, supported by mentoring and coaching programmes.
Senior associates
The transition from associate to senior associate begins with a core skills programme. You’ll explore your personal brand, your role in business development, how to exceed client expectations and build your business as a partner or senior counsel.
Alongside your cohort of other senior associates you will take part in the year-long leadership academy.
Leadership development
Your learning and developing journey continues here. Through our Always Learning leadership programme, you will receive targeted development in skills to create valuable relationships with colleagues and clients and to lead our business.
You’ll also receive individual coaching on a wide range of topics as well as valuable opportunities to mentor and be mentored.

Taylor Wessing has provided a structured learning and training program to help manage the transition from associate to senior associate, which has ensured I have the right skills and the confidence to step up. There are workshops and other training opportunities held throughout the year, targeting specific skills at different points in your career. The training is a good mix of internal and external providers.
Whilst working in our Disputes & Investigations team alongside a vast array of talented lawyers, this support has allowed me to take on a large amount of responsibility early on and continually develop new skills and grow professionally.
Working collaboratively and coherently on high profile regulatory investigations is imperative, given there often large size and complexity.
