Artificial intelligence (AI) is high on the agenda of the European Union. An important point in this regard is an appropriate legal framework. At the end of April 2021, the EU Commission presented a proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down harmonised rules for AI, a law on artificial intelligence, also called the AI Regulation - according to the EU Commission, the world's first legal framework for AI.
