We have advised Sun Venture on its acquisition of the Hyatt Place London City East from Resolution Property.
Based in Singapore, Sun Venture is a privately held multi-asset investment firm which invests globally and across different asset classes such as public equities, fixed income, private market funds, real estate, private equity and alternatives. This acquisition represents Sun Venture’s first investment into the hotel sector and reaffirms its strategy to expand its presence in new asset classes with favourable demand and supply dynamics, such as the hotel sector.
The acquisition was influenced by its top green credentials, evident in the hotel's BREEAM Excellent certification and registration on a net zero pathway with the Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor. Formerly an office building, the Hyatt Place London City East opened as a 280-key hotel in 2021. The hotel is located in the heart of Aldgate and will continue to be managed by Cycas Hospitality.
