It goes without saying that our daily practice is currently feeling the impact of events and reactions surrounding the developing coronavirus pandemic. We have also had to adapt to this situation and have carefully put together a series of measures in order to protect the health of our employees, clients and business partners as well as our client work.
Since the beginning of the month, an internal corona task force operating as a central body has been defining the rules of conduct in all processes of the firm’s work and office organisation at our five German locations. Extensive precautions and a rapid switch to decentralised structures on the part of our IT department have ensured that our client work continues to be carried out at the normal level and is not affected by the measures taken. As usual, all your contact persons are available to you and will fulfil your instructions to the fullest extent.
All currently applicable requirements and measures follow the current recommendations from experts and authorities:
- Employees who feel unwell or ill are not permitted to enter the offices. Where a case of coronavirus is suspected, superiors must be informed immediately and a doctor consulted by telephone. Following contact with persons from regions that have been designated as risk areas by the Robert Koch Institute, strict instructions must be followed.
- Business trips are limited to only those which are absolutely necessary. Personal meetings should be avoided as far as possible, and employees who are available are working decentrally, mostly in their home offices. Meetings of all kinds are held by telephone or video conference whenever possible.
- For the protection of our clients and guests, visitors to all locations are informed in writing of the binding rules of conduct when entering our premises. Cleaning companies disinfect all contact surfaces every hour on weekdays. Disinfectants and wipes are available in all openly accessible areas of our offices.
The rapid development of the coronavirus pandemic brings with it many uncertainties. The need for legal advice is increasing.
