Mike Goldammer announced as the new Managing Partner in Shanghai

Taylor Wessing announces plans to appoint Mike Goldammer, longstanding partner of its China Group, as the new managing partner of Taylor Wessing's office in Shanghai*.  

Mike is currently based in the firm's Munich office. He will take over the role from partner Ralph V. Koppitz, who has led the office in Shanghai since 2003.

Having spent the majority of his career working as a lawyer in Shanghai and Beijing, Mike joined Taylor Wessing as a partner in 2009. Since then, he has been advising international corporate groups and medium-sized companies on their activities in China. He is recognised for his advice on international corporate and M&A matters, with a particular focus on compliance and foreign investment.   

Commenting on his new role, Mike Goldammer said: “I'm starting in Shanghai from a very good position. Corporate M&A and Compliance advice from our lawyers in the region and from international lawyers in our China Group continues to be in great demand from our clients. Ralph, Dr. Michael Tan and the whole team have been established for many years and I look forward to helping shape the next few years, and build on our existing success."

*Mike's appointment is subject to completion of the registration process with the Chinese Ministry of Justice.

Ralph V. Koppitz is stepping down as managing partner of the firm's office in Shanghai following a term of over 16 years and will continue to advise the firm's management in a consultative role.
